“Tragedy as a generation”

Jeff Fleischer at Youth Advocate Programs, Inc., which is one of our member organizations, shared this story with us.

It’s a short interview where host David Brancaccio speaks with Jeff Madrick, who writes a column in Harper’s Magazine, about the travails of today’s youth. The national unemployment rate fell to 7% this month, but for youth ages 16-24 the unemployment rate is an astonishing almost 17%. In the interview, the two hash out the impact this has on youth today, and the implications for our national work force in the future.
