About the Human Services Policy Network
The Human Services Policy Network (HSPN) is a sustained effort to mobilize community-based advocates on common human service action, focused on service providers serving youth, families, seniors, and people with disabilities.
HSPN has developed in response to the threat of deep and potentially sustained cuts to programs critical to the human development system. Members of HSPN mobilize the affiliates of national networks to deploy common messages to the Congress, the White House, and the American people. Our primary focus is to advocate for nondefense discretionary programs that are critical to youth, families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities.
About The National Human Services Assembly
The National Human Services Assembly (NHSA) is an association of America’s leading nonprofit service providers. It was created by top national executives in the sector, who believed their organizations could accomplish more collectively than individually to advance their missions and optimize performance. The Assembly has grown to include eighty five members, mostly the national headquarters of service provider organizations. These groups and their respective national networks collectively engage with nearly every household in the country. The Assembly member network collectively represents a $61 billion sector that employs 1,140,000 employees in over 100,000 locations nationwide.
About the National Collaboration for Youth
For 40 years, the NHSA has convened the National Collaboration for Youth (NCY), a coalition of National Assembly member organizations that have a significant interest in youth development. Members of NCY include more than 50 national, non-profit, youth development organizations. Its mission is to provide a united voice as advocates for youth to improve the conditions of young people in America, and to help young people reach their full potential. Collectively, the member organizations of the National Collaboration for Youth:
- Serve more than 40 million young people
- Employ over 100,000 paid staff
- Utilize more than six million volunteers
- Have a physical presence in virtually every community in America
The Human Services Policy Network seeks to build on NHSA’s history of collaboration and collective action in the human services field.
